Marine soil movement at GRT’s Facility

Marine shipping of large volumes of soil by barge can be a safe and cost-effective method of transportation.

GRT’s Resource Regeneration Facility at Duke Point is adjacent to a barge ramp for convenient handling. Our Duke Point plant staff capably and routinely unload barges in the cleanest and tidiest way (thanks to Ben in the loader and Emerson in the excavator on this beautiful December day).

Yes - that is the famous Zim Kingston pictured in the background!

Our onsite procedures and plans include various measures to prevent the discharge of deleterious materials to the terrestrial and marine environments on and near our site. This includes regular street sweeping, careful loading and material transfers, maintaining and keeping equipment clean, and various other spill prevention measures.

As always, we have full control over the excess soil we receive and process and are committed to environmental responsibility and stewardship.
